This crispy potato recipe attracts everyone. In this recipe, potatoes are cut into finger size and fried after adding cornflour, black pepper and chili flakes. Garlic, onion and ginger are mixed with corn starch and some aromatic whole spices to make a sauce and potato fingers are added to it and served with spring onion, sesame and honey.

Its crispness even after being cooked in the sauce is the specialty of this recipe. The spicy taste of chili flakes and the sweetness of honey give this recipe a spicy sweet delicious flavor. Honey Chilli Potato Ingredients:

 

  • 1/2 kg – Potatoes
  • ¼ Cup – Rice Flour
  • 2 tablespoons of corn flour (corn starch)
  • 1/2 teaspoon – Salt (as per taste)
  • 1 teaspoon – Black pepper powder
  • 700 gm – Cooking oil for deep-frying
  • 2 tablespoons of cooking oil
  • 2 tablespoons – Ginger & Garlic (finely chopped)
  • 2 – Green Chilli (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 Cup – Onion (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 Cup – Capsicum (finely chopped)
  • 1/4 tablespoon – Salt (as per taste)
  • 1 tablespoon – White vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon of soya sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of red chilli sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of corn flour
  • 2 tablespoons – Honey (as per taste)
  • 1 teaspoon – White Sesame seeds (roasted)
  • 1 tablespoon – Spring onion greens (finely chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon – Red chili flake

Honey Chilli Potato Instructions:

 

Step 1
First, peel the potatoes, wash them, and cut them equally into Finger size. Soak potato fingers in ice-cold water for 10 minutes to remove their extra stretch. Put a big pan on top of the flame and add 4 to 5 cups of water and half boil these potato fingers will not boil full. When the potato finger half boils, we will turn off the flame. Take out the potato fingers from the water and spread them on a plate to cool down.
Step 2
Take a big bowl and put the potato finger in it, now add one spoon of cornflour, rice flour, black pepper, and salt and mix it slowly, keep in mind that the potato finger should not break. Court well by stirring gently with a flat spoon.
Step 3
Now for frying them, place a pan on the flame and pour cooking oil in it. When the cooking oil becomes hot, carefully put each finger of these potato fingers inside the cooking oil. Fry on medium flame till crisp. Now we will prepare the souse.
Step 4
Now place a wide nonstick fry pan on top of the flame and put a tablespoon of cooking oil in it when it becomes hot. Put the garlic inside it and cook it for 30 seconds. Then we will put onion in it and stir it for 30 seconds. Now add chopped ginger and green chilies as well. Keep running like this for 30 seconds. Add capsicum, salt, soya sauce, red chili sauce, and vinegar, and cook for 2 minutes while stirring.
Step 5
Put the cornflour in a cup of water and mix well, keeping in mind that there should be no lumps. Now, we will slowly pour this cornflour-mixed water into the pan and mix it slowly while stirring. When our paste starts to thicken, add your fried potato fingers to it and turn off the flame.
Step 6
Now, we will add honey and mix it gently. Garnish with chopped spring onion and roasted sesame seeds. So, when our Honey Chilli Potato is ready, serve it hot.

Tips And Notes


1 – After frying the Potato Fingers, keep them in a ventilated basket so that the exterior will be removed and the inside will remain crispy due to air exposure.
2 – To make potato fingers more crispy, fry them twice, by doing this they will become more crunchy.
3 – Sesam seeds should not be roasted excessively, their test becomes bitter due to excessive roasting.
4 – After cutting the potato fingers, you can fry them without half boiling them, they are made in both ways, fry them even after boiling and can also be fried directly.

Is honey chili potato good for health?

Ans: Being potato finger fried, can increase the amount of cholesterol, those who avoid excessive fat, should eat fewer Hony Chilli Potatoes.
Q: Does Chilli Honey Potatoes contain garlic and onions?
Ans: Garlic and onion are added to Ya Chilli Honey Potatoes, without it, the taste does not develop in this recipe.
Q: Is Ajinomoto added to Chilli Honey Potatoes?
Ans: Some restaurants in the market add Ajinomoto in Chilli Honey Potatoes. But it is injurious to health. So we do not ask to add Ajinomoto in any of our recipes.
