Introductions – It is the main dry vegetable eaten in North India. Arbi Masala Recipe is a special Dry vegetable made at Hindu religious festivals like Shivratri, and Navratrii in India. Since it is made on religious occasions, garlic and onions are not used in this recipe. You can make this recipe either by boiling or by frying. This recipe tastes delicious when made in both ways. In this recipe, colocasia is thoroughly washed, after that, it is boiled in a cooker, peeled, and cut into small pieces and a paste of spices is prepared, in which asafoetida, celery, black pepper, rock salt, green chilies are added and cooked well, garnish with green coriander. Arbi Masala Recipe Ingredients:
- 500 Gm – Arbi (Colocasia)
- 2 tablespoon – Cooking Oil
- 1/2 teaspoon – Carom Seeds
- 2 teaspoon – Coriander Powder
- 1/2 Red Chilli Powder (as per taste)
- 1/2 – Black Paper (crushed)
- 2 -Green Chilli (chopped)
- 1/2 teaspoon – Sendha Namak (Salt, as per taste)
- 1 – Lemon
- 1 tablespoon – Green Coriander Leaves (chopped)
Arbi Masala Recipe Instructions:
Step 1
First of all, we will wash the colocasia by rubbing it thoroughly with the fingers in water so that the soil on top of it becomes clean. Now we will put the barbie in the pressure cooker to boil, for that we will put the barbie in the pressure cooker and add water of 4 to 5 Water has to be kept so much that the barbie is immersed in the water well.
Step 2
Putting the cover of the pressure cooker, we will put the Arabiya on the flame to boil, two whistles have to be put in the cooker to boil the Arbies. When the cooker gets two whistles, close the flame and remove all the pressure from the cooker to see whether our Arabiya has boiled or not. We will test the Arabic with a toothpick, if the toothpick goes inside well, then our Arabic boil is done and if it does not go inside, then we will apply one more whistle and boil the Arabes well.

When the colocasia is well boiled, put it in a sieve remove all the water, and keep it cool. When the Arbi cools down, peel them with the help of a knife. Cut into half-inch size pieces.

Tips And Notes
1 – If you want to make arbi by frying, then wash and peel the arbi cut it lengthwise, and fry, the rest of the process will remain the same.
2 – Apply mustard oil or any cooking oil on your hands and knife before peeling raw Arabiya, by doing this your hands will not get itchy.
3 – You can store the rabies in an airtight container in the refrigerator, it can be used for two to three days.
4 – You can take flour puris and these arbi masala before going on a journey. These arbi masala and flour puris are very tasty to eat during the journey.

Q: What spices are put in arbi?
Ans: Due to fasting in Arbi, some limited spices are added like coriander powder, chili powder, black pepper powder, rock salt, green coriander, etc. If you are not making Arbi for fasting, then you can increase the quantity of spices.
Q: What is the benefit of eating colocasia?
Ans: Fiber is very important for the digestive system and for digesting food and fiber is found in abundance in colocasia, so colocasia food is very beneficial for health.
Q: Can we give colocasia to small children?
Ans: Arbi after cooking becomes a very soft dish. You can give them to small children whose teeth have not come out and they can eat solid food.
