Momos at Home Recipe Instructions:
Step 1
First, put 300 grams of flour in a big bowl, add half a teaspoon of salt, mix well, and add water little by little to form a stiff dough. Mix little by little, do not add a lot of water at once. When it becomes hard and ready, cover it with a wet cloth and keep it aside for 30 minutes. And prepare the stuffing.
Step 2
Place a big deep vessel over the flame and put 700 grams of water inside it to heat. When the water boils well, put 100 grams of soya chunks inside it and boil them for 5 minutes. After boiling the soya chunks for 5 minutes, turn off the flame and put the soya chunks in an iron strainer to drain out all the water pour cold water over them, let them cool, and then squeeze them well with hands to remove all the water.
Step 3
Now put the soya chunks in a mixer grinder jar and grind them coarsely. Grate carrots and cabbage put both of them inside a big bowl add half a spoon of salt, mix well, and keep it like this for 5 minutes, by doing this all the water inside them will come out.
Step 4
Now place a non-stick pan over the flame and add one tablespoon of butter inside it. When the ghee starts melting well, add chopped garlic and chopped ginger inside it and fry it well until golden. After the garlic turns golden, add chopped green chilies and while stirring, add grind soya chunks and roast lightly while stirring well. Increase the flame to high and roast the soya chunks until all the moisture is gone. It will take about 5 to 7 minutes for the moisture in the soya chunks to roast. Once the soya chunks are roasted, take them out on a big plate and cool them.
Step 5
Now we will press the carrots and cabbage thoroughly with our hands and extract all the water from them. Now put these vegetables inside this big bowl and also add cooled soya chunks and finely chopped onion, chopped coriander and finely chopped ring onion, chopped capsicum, 1 tsp red chili paste, 1/2 tsp salt (as per taste), 1/2 tsp black pepper. Add 1 tsp vinegar and 1 tsp soy sauce 1 teaspoon Aromatic Powder and mix everything well.

Step 6
Now we will take our maida dough and prepare it well by kneading it with our hands. We will make small balls of dough and roll it with our hands to make a long shape. We will cut small balls from the long shape with the help of a knife. Press all the balls with the help of palm to give them a round shape and dust all the balls with flour.
Step 7
Now take a small round ball and roll it with the help of a rolling pin and make a round roti of three and a half to four inches diameter. Roll out the roti thinly and not too thickly. Place the roti on your palm, place a tablespoon of stuffing inside it, and with the help of your fingers, hold the round ends slowly fold them, and close them from the top. You can make the momos round or long as per your wish and in any shape shown in the photo.
Step 8
Prepare all the momos in the same order, then pour water into the steamer and keep it on the flame to boil the water. Apply some ghee on the upper part of the steamer from inside place the momos inside it at a gap of one inch cover it from above and keep it for steaming. Reduce the flame to medium and it takes at least 15 minutes for the momos to be steamed and ready.
Step 9
After 15 minutes, your momos are steamed and ready. Remove the cover of the steamer and apply melted butter on them with a brush. Take out all the momos from the steamer on a serving plate. Our Momos At Home Recipe is ready. Serve them hot. Serve them with red chili chutney and mayonnaise. They taste very tasty.
Step 10
If you want to eat deep-fried momos, then do not steam them by keeping them in a steamer. Place a big non-stick pan over the flame and pour cooking oil inside it and when it gets heated well, put the stuffed momos inside it. Add them and deep fry them till they become golden fried and when they become golden fried, take them out of the cooking oil, keep them in a serving plate, and serve them hot.
