Introduction – Hello friends, we welcome you to the Khana Khilana recipe blog. Today, we will share a delicious sweet dish. Apart from being rich in nutrients like protein and fiber, Besan Ke Laddu is very tasty. This laddu is a living example of the art of cooking together in the family. 

All the women of the family prepare this sweet dish together in the kitchen while talking to each other, which increases love among them as well as keeps the family tied together. The elderly women of the house teach the art of cooking to the new generation. Be it kids or adults, everyone likes these laddus very much.

In Hindu temples and homes, this laddu is also used as an offering to God. Especially on Tuesdays, people of Hindu religion worship Lord Hanuman and after offering besan ke laddu, distribute it as prasad to all the children and adults. In family functions and wedding celebrations, besan ke laddu are often given as gifts to special guests.

To make gram flour laddus, gram lentils are finely ground to prepare the gram flour. After roasting the gram flour with pure ghee on low flame, it is cooled and then powdered sugar and various kinds of dry fruits are added to it. Small round-shaped laddus are prepared with the help of hands. The special thing about these laddus is that you can keep them in an air-tight jar for about a month and use them. They do not get spoiled.

Besan Ke Laddu Ingredients:

 

  • 250 gm – Besan (gram flour)
  • 200 gm – Pure desi ghee
  • 250 gm – Suger powder
  • 15 – Green cardamom powder
  • 20 gm – Cashews (coarsely ground)
  • 50 gm – Almond (coarsely ground)
  • 25 gm – Pistachio (finely chopped)
  • 20 gm – Raisins

 

Besan Ke Laddu Directions:

 

Step 1

Place a large non-stick heavy bottom pan on the flame and pour ghee into it. When the ghee melts, pour the gram flour into it after filtering it through a fine iron sieve. Turn the flame on low and roast the gram flour while stirring it slowly with the help of a spoon.

Step 2

Keep stirring the gram flour continuously with a spoon and keep the flame very slow. Make sure that the gram flour does not burn in the pan. Keep stirring it continuously. It takes about 15 to 20 minutes for the gram flour to roast well. After stirring the gram flour continuously for about 15 to 20 minutes, the fragrance will start coming from the gram flour and it will start releasing its ghee.

Step 3

When the ghee rises to the top and the color of the gram flour changes while roasting, Now we will put almonds and cashews in it, and after mixing it turn off the flame Even after turning off the flame, keep stirring the gram flour for about 2 minutes let the gram flour cool down a bit.

Step 4

After stirring for 2 minutes, carefully transfer the gram flour to a large plate. When the roasted gram flour comes to room temperature, stir it well with a spoon add sugar powder and cardamom powder to it, and mix it well with clean hands.

Step 5

After mixing the mixture well, make a round laddus of your choice with the help of your hands as shown in the photo. Prepare all the laddus and place them on a plate and garnish them with finely chopped pistachios. So, our Besan Ke Laddu are ready, serve them fresh.

Tips And Notes

 

1 – To make gram flour laddu, you should always use a large and heavy bottom pan. In a light bottom pan, the gram flour often burns from the bottom and the recipe gets spoiled. In a heavy pan, the gram flour gets roasted well on high flame.

2 – Lightly roasting the melon kernels and adding them to the gram flour laddus gives a good taste to the gram flour laddus and you can add or not add any dry fruits as per your choice. We have not used raisins in the recipe.

3 – To make gram flour laddu, always use coarse and fresh gram flour and instead of sugar powder, use powdered sugar which is easily available in the market, it is thick and tastes good.

Q: You can eat Besan Ke Laddu during fasting?

Ans: Only Tuesday’s fast is such that it can be broken only by eating sweets. In Tuesday’s fast, you can break your fast by eating laddu. In any other fast, gram flour laddu is prohibited.

Q: When should one not eat Besan Ke Laddu?

Ans: Gram flour laddu is sweet, so it is harmful for diabetic people, they should not eat it and if someone has any stomach related problem, then they should also consume gram flour laddu only after consulting a doctor.

Q: How many laddus are there in 1 kg weight?

Ans: The number of laddus in 1 kg depends on the size of the laddus made, but in the market, there are between 20 to 22 laddus in 1 kg weight.
