Tips And Notes

1 – While adding custard powder paste to boiling milk, always keep the flame slow and keep stirring the milk continuously with a spoon, otherwise lumps will form in the custard paste and the recipe will be spoilt.
2 – You can add any fruits of your choice in fruit custard, just the fruits should not be those that have water content like muskmelon, watermelon, etc. and the fruits should not be sour either. Pineapple should never be added to fruit custard. The enzyme bromelain found in pineapple makes the custard taste bitter.
3 – You can add dry fruits like pistachios, almonds, raisins, and cashews for garnishing the fruit custard. Adding vanilla ice cream also enhances the taste of fruit custard. You must try it.

Faq

Q: Which is the best custard powder?
Ans: There are many companies available in the market that offer egg-free and egg-containing custard powder. Weikfield company’s vanilla custard powder is the best and it is 100% vegetarian. It does not contain any eggs.
Q: What to do if the custard becomes too thick?
Ans: This often happens with people while cooking custard. They cook the custard too much and it becomes thicker when it cools down. If your custard becomes thick when it cools down, add cold milk to it and beat it well to make it thin.
Q: How long can custard be kept in the fridge?
Ans: Any dish tastes good only when it is fresh but sometimes we prepare too much of it and we have to keep it in the fridge and then use it. If you have prepared too much of your custard then keep it in the fridge for two or three days and use it, not for more than a day.
