In most places in India, street food trucks are parked on the roadside, where Pani Puri and Aloo Tikki are made, you will often see a crowd of people eating crispy and delicious Aloo Chaat.

There are many such shops in the markets of Delhi where Aloo Chaat is very famous and people come from far and wide to eat this delicious crispy chaat. Where boiled potatoes are deep fried on a large iron deep pan and spicy spices and coriander mint chutney are added to it.

People like to serve this Aloo Chaat as a snack for their special guests in special cocktail parties. In this recipe, potatoes are washed and peeled, after which potatoes are cut into 1 inch pieces and washed thoroughly with fresh water and deep fried in cooking oil till golden brown crispy.

Crispy potato pieces are topped with some spicy spices and green coriander mint chutney and lemon juice. So let’s make this spicy potato chaat recipe.

Aloo Chaat Recipe Ingredients: 

 

For Aloo Chaat
  • 500 gm – Potatoes
  • 250 gm – Cooking oil
  • 1 inch – Ginger (chopped)
  • 2 – Green Chilies (chopped)
  • 1/2  teaspoon – Roasted Cumin Powder
  •  1/2 teaspoon – Salt (as per taste)
  •  1/2 teaspoon – Chaat Masala Powder (as per taste)
  •  1/2 teaspoon Yellow Chili Powder
  •  1 serving spoon –  Green Coriander Leaves (chopped)
  •  1 serving spoon – pomegranate Grains
  • 2 serving spoons – Fine Gram Flour Save (for garnishing)
  • 1 Lemon

For Green Chutney

  • 100 gm – Green Coriander Leaves (Fresh)
  • 25 gm – Green Mint Leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon – Cumin Seeds
  • 1 inch – Ginger (chopped)
  • 1 Green Chili (chopped)
  • 1 – pinch – Asafoetida
  • 1/4 teaspoon – Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon – Chaat Masala

Aloo Chaat Recipe Instructions:


Step 1
First, wash the potatoes thoroughly, peel them, and cut them into pieces of one-and-a-half-inch size, then wash them thoroughly with clean water two to three times and drain all the water in a sieve. Place a nonstick deep pan on the flame and pour all the cooking oil. When the cooking oil becomes hot, deep fry the chopped potatoes inside it.
Step 2
Fry the potatoes on medium flame till golden brown. Put as many potatoes in the pan as they come at once and fry the rest two or three times. Fry only as many potatoes as can come in the pan at one time, fry the potatoes by adding them again or the third time.
Step 3
It takes 8 to 10 minutes to fry the potatoes at a time, while stirring the potatoes slowly, turn them golden brown. When the potatoes are golden fried, check them with a toothpick, if the toothpick easily goes inside the potato, then it means that our potatoes are fried.
Step 4
Now we will prepare our coriander and mint chutney, for the chutney, put all the ingredients in a big mixer grinder jar and pour one serving spoon of water into it. Grind all the ingredients in a mixer grinder to make a fine paste. Will test salt and chaat masala according to your test, if it is less then you can add more.
Step 5
Now we will put all our golden fried potatoes in a big ball and add all the spices like salt, chaat masala, yellow chili powder, cumin powder, green chili, ginger, green coriander leaves, and lemon juice according to the test and add two spoons of green coriander mint chutney and mix it well. Everyone will get well any masala or green chutney can increase or decrease according to your test. So now our Aloo Chaat Recipe is ready, take it out in a serving bowl and garnish it with pomegranate grains and gram flour thin sew, and serve.

Tips And Notes

 

1 – If you want, you can also make potato chaat in another way, after cutting the potato and boiling it 75%, you can also shallow fry it by turning it upside down in cooking oil on a flat pan.
2 – After Aloo Chaat is ready, you add two service spoon roasted peanuts to it and serve, now this Aloo Peanut Chaat recipe has been made.
3 – To bring a sweet and sour taste to Aloo Chaat, after the Aloo Chaat recipe is ready, mix powdered sugar in it.
